PRP Partnership Assessment

CFK visited several structures for orphans and vulnerable children with education to employment programs. Structures spanned from psychosocial rehabilitation programs (PRP) for homeless children, residential facilities for orphans, to educational centers for exploited children.

Institut Polytechnique Superieur

CFK funded l'Institut Polytechnique Superieur, an established technical school that provides licenses in accounting and business management, civil engineering, electro technology, transit and customs, administrative assistant, banking and insurance, finance administration, and computer technology.
Community-level Initiatives: Capacity building
CAMOJET

CFK strengthened the capacity of the CAMOJET, an umbrella organization of 37 youth associations that empowers young people to get involved in the development of their country.

Assessed the strength of the network.

Introduced an administrative structure to track member organizations. - In collaboration with the CAMOJET, CFK held open forums with youth organizations in 5 major cities in Chad (N'Djamena, Abéché, Bongor, Moundou, and Sarh). Young people were given an opportunity to talk about the crisis that plagues their country and their role in the re-creation of a nation.

Identified local leaders in each city with access to the internet (only city without access to internet was Bongor).
- Assessed the CAMOJET's accounting system.

Diaspora funding

Facilitated Diaspora transfer of goods and funds to their homeland.

US-Chadian Diaspora: Laptops were donated to build the capacity of the CAMOJET.

French-Chadian Diaspora: Start-up funds were provided for a youth-led newspaper called "Wakith Tamma"
National-level Initiatives: Peace building
Cricket competition "Match de l'Espoir"
- In collaboration with the CAMOJET, SOS Village and SAO Cricket, CFK organized a "Game of Hope" held on the 13th of April, the one year anniversary of a rebel attack on N'Djamena. The competition represented an opportunity for youth to get involved in positive inter-cultural activities and at the same time became a forum to condemn the manipulation of young people by governmental and rebel military forces alike.
"Wakith Tamma" Newspaper
- With the support of Chadians from the French Diaspora, CFK purchased an A3 printer for the Wakith Tamma Editors. 125 copies of the first edition of the newspaper were distributed in N'Djamena, Abéché, Moundou and Sarh. The newspaper is a youth led initiative that engages young people in the development of their country, promotes non-violent forms of activism, and civic education.
National Peace Forum

CFK met with representatives from local human rights groups, civil society organizations, and religious institutions to discuss their involvement in the peace process and gather information about their current initiatives.
