Started out of the church, the message of Pastor P.M. Smith still rings true today: Don't sit when you need to be standing, and don't stand when you know you need to be walking". His call to action called the lost to Christ and Christians to action. CFK became the creation of those moved to take their compassion to action, faced with the needs of children living in utter poverty in a world plagued by conflict, corruption, and injustice. Being blessed with so much, much is expected of us: our responsibility to those living in extreme poverty is to protect the weak from harm and abuse and to empower individuals to create systems that lead to secure environments, equal opportunity, independence and economic self-sufficiency.
Nathalie Losson founded CFK in March 2004. Named after her God-daughter, the inspiration for this project, CFK's mandate became to empower the children of this world to reclaim their future. Kaela is every child who with a little bit of help from the outside can reach her God-given potential. But if we sit by and do nothing she will never achieve all she was created to be.
